Good black and white photography is more than changing a
colour to monotone in Photoshop, choosing the subject and composing the image
for black and white is key. Great black and white, or monotone, photography
perhaps take photography back to its purest and simplest (or is that the most
complex?) form.
In selecting the subject and composing the image,
photographers need to consider; tonal contrast, texture and strong lines.
